Do you suffer from chest pain every time during your period? You can do that against the annoying feeling of tension!
Two out of three women suffer from breast pain during their period. During this time the breasts are unusually sensitive and slightly larger than usual because the hormone balance is unbalanced. In concrete terms: In the second half of the cycle the hormone oestrogen causes the mammary gland tissue to grow, which can lead to water retention (oedema) – even in the breast. After the period, the water is flushed out and the pain is reduced. But what can you do about it in the meantime?
Help against chest pain – From inside and outside!
Anyone suffering from chest pain should definitely put on a comfortable bra. So no push-up bra, no underwired bra, but simply a very comfortable sports bra that offers good support thanks to an underbust band. The right bra adapts to the breast and does not constrict it. In addition, light massages and quark compresses can also help against sore breasts. The latter cool the breasts and have a decongestant effect.
Besides the external application you can also rely on a remedy from nature: monk’s pepper. This medicinal plant is also said to help against chest pain. Why is this so? Because the active ingredients of the plant influence the release of the nerve messenger dopamine – and thus normalise the release of the hormone prolactin. This reduces the annoying feeling of tension in the breast. In addition, there are gels that contain natural progesterone and thus bring the hormone balance back into balance.
