After all, spring cleaning not only includes proper cleaning, but also clearing out.
Whether clothes, cosmetics or even food – cleaning out is good for our minds and creates space. So: Put everything into garbage bags and throw it away confidently or, if it is still useful, even sell or give it away.
General checklist for spring cleaning
- For the spring-cleaning we should clean the windows and wash the curtains in all rooms after cleaning and mucking out.
- Afterwards it goes to dusting. Whether book shelves, door frames, window sills, indoor plants, radiators, lampshades, monitors and other surfaces and shelves – nothing should be neglected here. Dusting works especially well with a damp dust cloth. More tips can be found here: Clean radiators and clean your PC.
- Then it goes to the floor – then it is time to vacuum everything once. Carpets can be cleaned with a special carpet cleaner, and the whole apartment should be vacuumed and then wiped. For wooden floors, the cloth should not be too wet when wiping, as this can damage them. All tips and which cleaners really help you can find out here: Wiping the floor and cleaning the carpet.
Cleaning the kitchen properly
- First wipe the inside of the cupboards with a damp cloth.
- Then clean the refrigerator (which can also be defrosted beforehand).
- We should also clean the oven: But fortunately, to get rid of stubborn dirt, we don’t have to resort to chemical cleaners or aggressive all-purpose cleaners. To put an end to the annoying scrubbing, household remedies such as baking soda or baking powder help.
- When cleaning up, the cooker hood must not be forgotten. For proper cleaning, the filter should be soaked in warm water with detergent and finally dried well.
- Do not forget to clean tiles to get rid of grease splashes.
- Clean work surfaces and stove: There are also some household remedies that are extremely suitable as cleaning agents, such as baking powder.
- Descaling kettles: Descaling works particularly well with vinegar essence or citric acid. In addition to the kettle, the coffee machine can also be freed from limescale deposits in this way.
Cleaning the bath properly
- Wipe out cabinets from the inside with a damp cloth.
- Clean the mirror with glass cleaner and then polish it.
- Clean washbasin, toilet, shower and bathtub with bath cleaner. In addition to all-purpose cleaners and scouring milk, joints can be cleaned with conventional home products such as vinegar or citric acid. We will show you here how to remove lime deposits from joints correctly: Cleaning tiles.
- If the water no longer drains properly, the drain should also be cleaned.
