Rosehip oil – also known as wild rose oil – is a real beauty miracle for the skin. Find out here what effect the oil has.
Rosehip Oil: Product Information
- Rosehip oil is extracted from the seeds of the rose hips. The oil can vary in colour from yellow to orange.
- Gentle extraction ensures that the many good ingredients are retained: Therefore, cold pressing and organic quality is advisable.
- Stored in a cool and dark place, rosehip oil keeps for about six months. It has a nutty, fruity and sweet-sour smell. Do not use the oil if it smells rancid!
Rosehip Oil: Effect
Rosehip oil is rich in vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, minerals and antioxidants and can be used in many beauty treatments:
- The vitamins contained in rosehip oil ensure a beautiful complexion, help against impurities, moisturize the skin, reduce skin damage such as stretch marks, scars, wrinkles and pigmentation spots and preserve the skin’s elasticity.
- Responsible for the caring properties are, for example, vitamin A, which promotes skin renewal, vitamin C, which stimulates collagen production and thus counteracts the formation of wrinkles, and vitamin E, which provides moisture and acts as a radical scavenger to prevent skin ageing. In addition, vitamin E helps to fade scars and stretch marks with regular use.
- With the plant pigment lycopene, the aging of the skin is additionally counteracted, as this plant pigment has antioxidant properties.
- No matter what skin type you have, you can’t go wrong with rosehip oil, because the unsaturated fatty acids in the oil balance sebum production. Thus they help dry as well as oily and impure skin to a healthy average. The good thing about it is that the oil is absorbed quickly without leaving an oil film on the skin. Rosehip oil belongs to the non-comedogenic vegetable oils – that means it does not clog the pores!
- Rosehip oil can also be used after sunbathing: Its calming effect and valuable antioxidants help to prevent premature skin aging.
- Rosehip oil can also be used for the scalp, hair and nails. Especially in cases of dandruff or itchy scalp, rosehip oil alleviates the discomfort. It can also be used to strengthen the nails, for torn cuticles and to care for the tips of the hair.
Rosehip Oil: Application
- Application on the skin: Massage 3 to 4 drops of the oil into the still moist skin morning and evening after cleansing. For the scalp, warm the oil slightly in a water bath, then massage it in and leave it to work for half an hour. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water afterwards.
- Nails & hair: Distribute the rosehip oil regularly in the hair tips and on the fingernails.
- Scars & stretch marks: Damaged skin, scar tissue or burns can heal better with rosehip oil. Massage the oil into these areas regularly.
