The following steps are taken after shaping your construction and applying a colored coat of permanent varnish or colored UV gel.

4 steps to achieve a sugar effect on the entire nail:

  1. Apply a layer of Xtrem’Gloss finishing gel on top of the color without catalyzing it.
  2. Sprinkle the nail entirely with the glitter of your choice from 0.04mm to 0.06mm.
  3. Catalyze under UV/LED lamp for 2 min.
  4. Remove excess glitter with a brush.
Tip: Regarding the finish, it is imperative to opt for a tack-free finishing gel with medium flexibility because the sugar effect does not hold enough and flakes quickly on hard finishes.

What is a rubbed effect?

The rubbed effect, commonly referred to as the mermaid effect, leaves a beautiful metallic / pearly finish on the nail. It can be made with very fine specific glitter or powdered pigments which makes the effect even more pearly.

The advantage of this Nail Art technique is that it will transform a simple color into a chic and glamorous look.

All the steps mentioned are to be carried out after shaping your builder gel and after applying one or two coats of colored UV gel or permanent varnish. Depending on the color chosen, the result will be more or less dark.

  1. Sprinkle the glitter generously on the sticky residue of the color.
  2. Rub / massage the nail gently with the tip of your finger.
  3. Remove the excess glitter with a dust brush.
  4. Apply a thin layer of Xtrem’gloss or Perfect’Gloss finishing gel.
  5. Catalyze 1mn under UV/LED lamp.

What is a sprinkled effect?

This effect makes it possible to give a more or less glittery rendering to the color which has been applied. Compatible with all shades, do not hesitate to play with contrasts and material effects, for example by alternating a matte finish and a glitter throw.

Protocol for achieving the sprinkled effect

There are two ways to get a glittery finish on our pose:

Protocol 1:
  • On top of the second layer of color and before catalyzing it, finely sprinkle the glitter on the nail with a fan brush and catalyze.
  • Continue your protocol with the application of Perfect’Gloss Finishing Gel.
Protocol 2:
  • Apply Perfect’gloss finishing gel and lightly sprinkle glitter on the nail, then catalyze.
