The perfect eyebrow shape has long been one of the major beauty trends. We clarify the most important facts about the trend topic microblading.
What is microblading?
At the latest since supermodel Cara Delevingne has been seen everywhere, bushy and beautifully shaped eyebrows are on everyone’s lips. From Asia, where all beauty trends come from, this method also spilled over to us a few years ago. We are talking about microblading, a semi-permanent make-up.
In contrast to normal permanent make-up, pigments are scratched by hand with a special scalpel in the finest lines in the top layer of skin and filled with color. In this way, brows can be reconstructed and gaps filled in. The result: natural, voluminous brows.

Microblading: What are the costs?
The price can vary greatly depending on the cosmetic studio (or browery studio). However, you have to reckon with around $400-$1200. Follow-up treatment should take place around a month after the actual treatment. The color is refreshed again and should last longer. This is usually included in the price.
You have to plan around two hours for the complete application: consultation, sketching, anesthesia and pigmentation with the scalpel all take time.
Who offers the method?
Selected cosmetic studios (and special browery studios) offer the procedure with hair drawing. It should be ensured that the beautician has had special training and knows exactly how to deal with the hairline drawing. Because many unprofessional cosmetic studios jump on the tattoo trend and try to rip off customers, injure the skin by piercing too deeply, or have no disinfected tools. Therefore: Better to do a little more research and ask about experiences.
Who is microblading suitable for?
In principle, microblading is suitable for everyone. Nevertheless, there are risk groups who should better avoid permanent tattooing. First of all, possible allergic reactions should be excluded. You should also talk to a competent beautician about previous Botox treatments, as the result may otherwise be different than desired. Pregnant women and the seriously ill should consult their doctor beforehand.

What is the difference between microblading and permanent make-up?
The tools that are used for microblading are much thinner and finer than the tattoo needle that is used for classic permanent make-up for an eyebrow tattoo. The result is more natural and the color pigments can be better absorbed by the skin. Finer accents can also be made, the new hairs look more natural. The trend successor to microblading has also already been determined: Microshading should look even more natural because the beautician can work even more finely with this technique.
How long do you get something from the result?
The fine hair pattern lasts up to two years – but can also be very individual, depending on the fat content of the skin and skin type. After about a year and a half, the color will slowly begin to fade and can be refreshed.
Is it possible to make corrections in an emergency?
Yes, you usually have to help and correct after the first treatment. Because often the lines are too thin (better than too thick) or the paint is applied too superficially. In addition, it is better to trace the hairs step by step and build up the shape so that the customer can fulfill his wishes for the perfect curve and shape. Once the shape has been stung, something cannot be changed until it turns pale.

Microblading for the hair
As already mentioned, microblading is the latest beauty trend. The Asians have now expanded this trend. Because: In Korea, hairline microblading has recently become particularly popular. In contrast to the eyebrows, women and men alike are drawn to the beauty salon to have a forehead that is too high or a receding hairline removed. The hairline is simply created artificially using the microblading method. As with the classic microblading procedure, this treatment must be renewed every two years.
