How to make matte nail polish yourself
You can easily “matte” your favorite paint yourself with these tricks – and it’s very fast!
- Method 1: Baking powder! You need some finely sifted baking powder (no crumbs!) and a brush. Now you paint your nails – and brush them while still wet with a thin layer of baking powder. Wait a moment until the nails are dry – and wipe the baking powder off the varnish again. There you go: Matte look, in a matter of seconds.
- Method 2: Matt overcoat! Topcoat is a very convenient way to create a matt look. You first apply a base coat of your favorite nail polish on your nails – and then add another coat. Now you can reach for the topcoat lacquer. But be careful: Some types change the color of your nail polish! If the top coat looks misty or milky in the bottle, it will lighten your fingernails. When applying the topcoat you have to take care that the topcoat takes a long time to dry. Even if it looks dry on the surface, it can still be wet underneath for a long time. As a precaution you should be especially careful with your nails for the next 60 minutes. But: The effect is unbeatable!
