There is hardly anything worse than having a lot of rules when losing weight. To avoid this, it’s worth taking a look at the Far East. After all, Japanese women rely on a very simple concept for their slim line: they drink a lot of water. And it’s just as simple as it sounds: every day, the very first thing they do is drink four glasses of lukewarm water in small sips on an empty stomach immediately after getting up. In order not to inflate the stomach unnecessarily, still, non-carbonated water is used. You should now wait at least 45 minutes until breakfast.
Apart from that, you can eat as usual – but you should bear in mind that the Japanese water therapy is generally considered to be very healthy: the menu mainly consists of vegetables, fish and rice, dairy products and meat are few and far between. Nevertheless, Japanese women swear by the additional hydrotherapy: it boosts the metabolism, improves the elimination of toxins and supplies the muscle cells with fluid, so that the skin looks plumper. And: water fills the stomach, which is why people usually eat less at breakfast. So it’s worth trying out the water diet!
Lose weight: This fruit melts the pounds
You got a thing for citrus, too? Then you’ll certainly be happy about the result of this study: researchers were able to prove that grapefruit can help you lose weight. For the study, 42 test persons ate half a grapefruit in the morning, at noon and in the evening for six weeks. By the end of the study, not only had all the participants lost a few pounds, but they also had significantly smaller waists. Their blood pressure was also better. The results were published in the Metabolism Journal.
But why is the grapefruit such a fat killer? The researchers suspect a combination of several factors behind the beautiful success. Firstly, grapefruits contain the dietary fibre pectin. This improves digestion and swells up in the gastrointestinal tract – so you stay full for a long time. In addition, vitamin C boosts fat burning, which drains the abundant potassium in the grapefruit. And on top of that, the fruit has only a few calories. Well then: To the grapefruit, ready, slim!
