Well-groomed nails are a must for beautiful hands. Read here what the ideal five-step routine for nail care looks like.
Make time for an extensive manicure about once a week. Beautiful nails are simply part of a well-groomed appearance and are also a prerequisite for the nail polish to last a long time. The beauty experts reveal what the ideal 5-step routine for nail care looks like…
Preparation: Soak your hands in lukewarm water.
1. Use nail scissors
Use nail scissors or nail clippers to trim the nails to the desired length.
2. Round off the edges with a file
If a little more is to be removed from the nail, sapphire nail files are recommended, if it is a little less, use a ceramic or glass file.
How do sapphire and mineral files made of ceramic or glass differ?
Sapphire nail files have two differently grained sides: a coarse one for shortening and pre-filing and a fine one for smoothing the nail structure. Mineral files, on the other hand, are particularly gentle on the nail, as the file blade is structured inwards and has a porous surface. In this way, the nail is rubbed gently and evenly. However, compared to a sapphire nail file, mineral files wear less.
Application tip: Always file in one direction. In this way, the nail structure is not attacked and the nails are also not susceptible to cracks.
3. Use a rosewood stick
Use a rosewood stick or cuticle pusher to gently push back the soft cuticles. Since the cuticle is very sensitive, it is important to keep these things in mind when pushing back the cuticle.
4. Use cuticle nippers or scissors
Remove excess cuticle with cuticle nippers or scissors.
5. Last Step: Apply moisturizing cream
Take care of your hands by applying a moisturizing cream to them.
