Nobody is happy when the hair breaks off. Here we show what the causes could be and what you can do about them.
This is what is meant by hair breakage
Hair breakage can be recognized by small white dots in the hair where it has broken off or broken off. This can be at the tips, but also in the lengths. Result: The hair looks strawy and brittle.
Split ends, on the other hand, occur when the tips of the hair are broken and split – which does not necessarily make the hair look better. That way you can avoid split ends.
Hair breakage: These can be the causes
Many women dream of a flowing mane, so hair breakage is extremely inconvenient. Possible cause:
- Intensive dyeing/blonding
- Too much heat (hairdryer, flat iron, etc.)
- Wash hair too hot
- Vitamin deficiency
- Backcombing
- Strong pressure (e.g. from rubber bands)
- Heating air
Hair breakage: This helps
You can do a lot to prevent hair breakage, with the help of home remedies and new hair care routines. 4 tips that can help:
- Wash your hair properly: You should use lukewarm water for your hair wash. This is better for your hair and also your scalp, especially if you suffer from dry scalp. And better use a mild shampoo.
- Treat hair properly: Avoid curling iron, hair straightener and hair dryer if possible. Instead, choose the gentler variants such as air-drying or papiloting. If it absolutely must be the hairdryer: use the cold setting. Important: do not rub the hair dry with a towel after washing! Just gently dab it.
- Oil cure: Olive oil is not only healthy from the inside, it is also a real all-rounder as a household remedy for dry hair. Apply the olive oil to the hair as a mask or as a lace care and ideally leave it to work overnight. Rinse it out carefully the next day. There are more treatments here: Do your own hair treatment.
- Balanced diet: Vitamins are not only important for your immune system, but also for your hair. You can find out here which vitamins and trace elements you should pay particular attention to: Vitamins for the hair.
