We love nail polish on our fingers, but when it starts to crumble, we like to get rid of it quickly. This is how it works when you don’t have a nail remover on hand.
For many women, manicures are part of the regular beauty routine. The focus is not only on taking care of the hands, but also on painting the nails. But if the paint starts to crumble after a few days, it is best to remove it completely, as it quickly looks unkempt. But what to do if you don’t have a nail polish remover at hand? Many then start picking their nails or even scratching them with a sharp object. Caution: This can be quite damaging to the nails, causing pain and inflammation.
How to easily remove your nail polish without a remover
Trick 1: Use a clear coat
So if the health of your nails is important to you, you should go for a gentle way. Because there are! You can see several tricks in the video below – or try this method: All you need is a bottle of nail polish. Simply apply a new layer over the old one and let it work for a short time (about 10 seconds). Then take a paper towel or a cotton swab and wipe the paint off as long as it has not dried. This not only removes the new, liquid nail polish layer, but also the previous one. Tip: In general, this works with any varnish, but it’s best to use a transparent nail coat. This usually dries more slowly.
Trick 2: With alcohol
A second effective way to get rid of varnish is with alcohol treatment. The following applies: the higher the alcohol content, the more effective. Perfume, deodorant or disinfectants, for example, are particularly suitable. Simply put the product on a cotton pad and rub it over the nail. But be careful: the high alcohol content not only ensures that the stubborn layer of paint comes off, it can also cause severe irritation to the sensitive nail bed. The application should therefore not necessarily become routine.
Trick 3: Vinegar & Lemon
Another method that should not be used on a regular basis in order not to strain the thin cuticles too much. Mix white wine vinegar and fresh lemon juice and put your fingers into the mixture. Bath your fingers in the tincture for at least ten minutes, then slowly peel the nail polish off the nail. Then cream the fingers well.
