In winter, flyaway hair is high season. How do you get the annoying scrawl under control – we explain it to you!
The temperatures are falling and the joy of cozy winter sweaters, woolen coats and hats increases – if it weren’t for the problem of flying hair. When the hair rubs against the clothing, the positively charged particles (ions) that repel each other create an electrical charge that literally makes our hair stand on end. The dry heating air in turn increases the effect of flying hair. We’ll tell you five tips with which you can easily control flyaway hair.
1 . Moisture booster
You have dry hair? Then the basic problem of flying hair has been found. Already the right shampoo can prevent frizz. Products with oils, such as argan oil, are ideal. Hydrating hair masks and leave-in sprays intensively moisturize brittle lengths, reduce friction and tame frizz. A hair treatment has a particularly intensive effect overnight. Use a hair oil as a finish after washing the hair. For this, rub a few (!) drops into the palms of your hands and work them into the lengths. Please leave out the Ansaz. The hair oil strengthens and weights the hair fibers and gives intensive shine.
2. Do not blow-dry!
After washing, avoid blow drying your hair if possible and let your mane dry in the air. Heat styling puts even more strain on dry hair. If you can’t live without a hair dryer, then you should at least get an ion hair dryer. This prevents the electrical charge and tells flying hair to fight. Finally, blow-dry your mane cold. This will also reduce static electricity in your hair. A little hairspray brings frizzy hair under control.
3. Well combed
There is confusion among you about disentanglement? Do not panic! We recommend: A comb made of wood. The wide teeth also have the advantage that there is less friction when combing than with a brush, where the bristles are close together. Otherwise you should use brushes with natural bristles. Do not touch materials like plastic or metal! They only encourage flying hair. Extra tip: Spray some hairspray on the comb in advance.
4. Cloth trick
Place a tissue on the brush so that the bristles pierce and brush your hair. The cellulose neutralizes the electric charge. Alternatively, use a dryer cloth to run over the roots and lengths. This takes away the static charge from flying hair. By the way, they can be stored in the drawer in the office.
5. Hand cream
And what if your hair does stand on end? Rub a blob of hand cream into the palms of your hands and gently rub it over the protruding hairs. It’s that simple!
