Natural and well-groomed instead of shrill and long: baby boomer nails are the hottest nail trend of the hour. This is how the French Manicure 3.0 works!
What are baby boomer nails?
Baby what? No, we’re not talking about an explosive rise in the birth rate here, but a pretty cool nail trend from the USA. Because there baby boomer nails decorate the fingernails of many trend-conscious Beautiestas. Visually, baby boomer nails remind us of the classic French manicure. But unlike French Nails – we remember the pink nails with white tip – the main focus is on gel nails in the soft ombré look. The great thing about it: Due to the soft color gradient, baby boomer nails are timeless and simply suit every woman. The perfect opportunity for everyone who wants to have well-groomed, natural nails.

Babyboomer nails – Step-by-step guide
- First, treat your hands to a hand bath and gently push back the softened cuticles with a rosewood stick. To ensure that the gel adheres well, roughen the nail surfaces with a buffer or a fine nail file. Remove dust particles with a brush.
- In the second step, apply a thin layer of priming gel and let it dry for about 90 seconds under the UV lamp.
- Then brush the French gel onto the tip of the nail. For the typical ombré look, carefully blend the gel with a fine brush. Now let the gel cure again for 90 seconds under the lamp.
- Now the nails receive a gel coat in rosé. Let them dry again for 90 seconds under the lamp.
- File the nails into the desired shape and use the buffer to file off the top layer of the gel so that the white tips become visible.
- Finally, give the nails a glossy finish with a transparent gel – ready are the baby boomer nails!
Beauty tip: If you are unsure about DIY modeling, it is best to go to a nail studio.
