In the music video for her new single “Easy on me” Adele wears her iconic eyeliner – as always. We tell you which five tricks you can use to recreate it.
There are two things that singer Adele stands for: Her badass voice and, of course, her perfect eyeliner. Granted, Adele has the perfect round doe eyes where eyeliner just always looks good. But even without them, you can recreate the music queen’s iconic look. Here are five tips to do just that.
1. Gel instead of liquids
The more precise the liner, the better. Because with Adele’s eyeliner, every single line is right. So that you can work more easily, you should use a gel liner rather than a liquid product.
Apply some gel eyeliner with a fine brush, work the product into the back of your hand and only then start drawing the eyeliner. Either in small strokes or in one go.
2. Start from the middle
Do not start the eyeliner at the beginning or end of the upper lash line. It is best to start in the middle. This way it will not be too thick in the front and you have more control over the product. Draw the line as close as possible to the lash line. Also work in several layers, so you can be sure that the liner is deep black.
Only then can you draw the liner into the inner corner. This is often easier if you pull the lid a little taut at the outer corner. But be careful not to apply too much product here, so that the liner does not become too thick.
3. The Adele Wing
Once half the eyeliner is in place, it’s time for the famous Adele wing. The singer always wears her liner with a “flick” at the end. Here it is important that you change the pressure of the brush when drawing the eyeliner. The further you pull out the wing, the less pressure you should use. This allows the wind to flow out naturally.
Adele always wears her wing as an extension of her eyeliner. So try to draw the wing as straight as possible and keep your head straight. Finally, you can “re-sharpen” the wing with a cotton swab and some micellar water.
4. The lower lash line
Adele’s eyeliner is special not only because it’s so expressive, but because it looks like the line from the lower and upper lash lines are uniting to form a wing. But that’s not because the singer also wears eyeliner on the bottom. Here she rather relies on lots of mascara and kohl pencil. Both are easier to blend out and look less harsh. This creates a beautiful gradient in the wing.
5. Inner corner
There’s also a lot going on in the inner corner of Adele’s eyes. She even draws her eyeliner all the way to the inner corner. The inner corner eyeliner ensures that the eyes get a cat-eye effect and the whole thing looks even more interesting. Simply follow the natural line of your inner corner of the eye and paint a very fine line here.
If you have little eyelid area or even drooping eyelids, you can work with other techniques so that the eyeliner can be seen clearly. If you’re still wondering how the eyeliner looks on your eyelids, it’s a good idea to try these techniques.
