Curls like the Hollywood stars – a dream! But we probably all know that this is not so easy in real life. We have the salvation: 5 tips that you didn’t know yet and that will take your curling routine to the next level. To the Hollywood level …
1. Change of direction
A rule that many of you have probably heard before, but never really put into practice: The curls shouldn’t always be turned away from the face. On the contrary. If you change the direction of the curl in every game, the result will look much more natural in the end. Not so “wanted” and styled, but rather as if the curls were falling into each other. We guarantee you: …it’ll make all the difference in the world.
2. Vary the amount of hair
We definitely don’t want angel curls. That’s why you should always vary the thickness of the strands of hair you are curling with the curling iron. This way they all have a different curl and just don’t look so perfect overall. Especially the hair at the contours is usually a bit thinner, here the curls automatically become narrower. This method also allows you to get through all parts much faster.
3. Start with the approach
When you wrap the curl around the curling iron, hold the curling iron as close as possible to your roots. But be careful not to burn your scalp. You can get as close as possible to the roots by wrapping the curl around the curling iron about twice and then turning the curling iron “inwards” towards the scalp. Then wrap the rest of the curl around the curling iron. This will give your hair more volume overall, as the curls start right at the roots.
4. Don’t touch!
Don’t touch the curls! Let your hair cool down as long as possible and work all the strands first before you loosen the waves in any way. Warm hair can still be deformed – cool hair can’t. Even if the curls may seem a bit too “strong” or too small at first, this can be remedied in retrospect with a few simple steps – for example with some hair oil in the tips. Just put it in your hands, run your fingers through it and you are ready. Of course only after the hair has cooled down properly.
5. Tame flying hair
The curls are in, but at the top of your head you still see little hairs standing up in all directions? We’d know something about that. Switch the curling iron (if possible) to the lowest setting. Now move the curling iron gently and without much pressure from the roots to the lengths over the hair. In this way you will get even small, flying hairs under control again. Just be careful not to get too close to the scalp and not to stroke the hair too slowly. Then everything should go smoothly – without any hairspray or the like.
