You dream of fragrant hair with long-lasting freshness? Then hair perfume should definitely not be missing from your beauty shelf. Why do we tell you here.
Many women do one thing wrong over and over again without knowing it. After showering and washing their hair, they spray some perfume on their hair to keep it smelling fresh and irresistible for longer. This sounds understandable at first, after all our hair absorbs many odours throughout the day, but it is not good for the hair.
This is where hair perfume, also known as “Hair Mist” in the beauty world, comes into play. Hair is a predestined scent carrier, due to its surface it can excellently absorb scent molecules and thus ensure long-lasting freshness.
What is a hair perfume?
Whether soft-floral, mossy-woody or woody-oriental – hair perfumes are available in a wide variety of fragrances, just like normal perfumes.
Hair perfumes are particularly convincing because of their particularly light and mild texture and the caring ingredients such as camellia and argan oil and many other rich oils, because they pamper our hair with a silky shine and at the same time with a beautiful fragrance without weighing down the hair. The fragrance provides freshness as if you had just washed your hair fresh. Many “Hais Mists” also contain a reliable UV filter, which protects the hair extensively from sun damage and partly also prevents electrostatic charging.
What is the difference to conventional perfume?
Compared to conventional perfume, hair perfume has significantly less or no alcohol. This is a good thing, because if the high percentage of alcohol were also contained in hair perfume, your hair would dry out much faster.
Why is a hair perfume recommended?
In the meantime there is a wide range of hair fragrances. With their delicate, subtle scents, they are by no means obtrusive, so you can use them perfectly for the long day at the office. Even better: with the help of a hair perfume, unpleasant odours such as smoke, frying fat or cooking fumes, which quickly settle in the hair and stay there for some time, are neutralised and replaced by a pleasant, fresh scent. But the best thing is that you don’t even need many splashes of the hair perfume, because it is better to use it sparingly. In addition, a “Hair Mist” is much cheaper than a conventional perfume.
Does every hair need a certain hair perfume?
Every hair is different, whether blond, brown, red or black. But they all have something in common: the hair is surrounded by microscopic scales. If the hair is healthy, the scales form a smooth and shiny surface. However, this surface can also be rough and lackluster, due to substances such as alcohols which destroy the cuticle layer.
Different hair colours therefore do not need a specific hair perfume. The most important thing when buying a hair perfume is to pay attention to the ingredients so that you don’t put too much strain on your hair.
How to use hair perfume?
Hair perfume gives a fresh kick to your appearance, especially when the next hair wash is not yet required, but the hair should still smell good. Simply spray two to three sharpeners of the hair perfume from a distance of about 20 to 30 centimetres onto your dry and already styled hair – done. Now your fragrance can unfold optimally in your hair, smelling intensively but not obtrusively for a few hours and thus reliably accompany you through the day.
How long does the fragrance last in the hair?
The hair scent can last up to six hours. The reason for the relatively short shelf life is the lower alcohol content compared to conventional perfume. If the hair perfume does not smell intense enough, you can always freshen up the fragrance with one or two new sprays. Even if hair perfume does less harm than normal perfume, you should always pay attention to the consumption.
Can I wear my normal perfume in addition to my hair perfume?
You do not want to do without your normal perfume besides your hair perfume? No problem! Just make sure that the fragrances harmonize with each other and do not “bite” each other. For example, a flowery-rose perfume is best accompanied by a hair perfume that also has rosy nuances. In order to wear perfectly coordinated fragrances for skin and hair, numerous brands, including Dior and Thierry Mugler, now offer matching perfumes and hair scents.
