Beautiful eyebrows are the framework for an attractive look. The right eyebrow care gives your face a certain radiance. These five things should therefore in no case be missing from your care for the eyebrows.
Finding the perfect eyebrow shape for your own face is not that easy. Eyebrows that are too thinly plucked can quickly make you look severe. A small curve in the back third of the brow makes your face more expressive and you look younger. In general, the following applies: The eyebrows should start at the level of the nose and end parallel to the outer corner of the eye.
The right eyebrow care
Once you have found the perfect eyebrow shape for yourself, you want to keep it that way. This is possible with regular eyebrow care. Best of all: It doesn’t take long to care for your eyebrows and you need few accessories. These five things your eyebrows will love.
1. Tweezers
Plucking is a must for beautiful and well-groomed eyebrows. Finding good eyebrow tweezers, however, is not that easy. Many of the tweezers are blunt, which makes plucking very painful and strenuous. When you see tweezers with a beveled end that is a little wider at the bottom, you’ve found the perfect one.
You can pluck your eyebrows precisely towards the tip of your ear if you have a round or oval face, and end with the curve of the eyebrows towards the middle of your ear if your face is rather long or angular.
Tip: If you pluck your eyebrows in the evening after a hot shower, your body is the least sensitive to pain and your pores are optimally opened so that you can easily catch every stubborn hair with the tweezers.
2. Aloe vera
Just as important as plucking is the care afterwards. To avoid painful inflammation, irritation or redness, be sure to apply a nourishing and cooling cream, lotion or gel to your eyebrows.
Aloe vera gel is particularly suitable as an eyebrow care product because aloe vera is moisturizing and the gel has valuable amino acids, acemannan and enzymes. The enzymes are responsible for controlling hair growth and creating thick eyebrows.
3. Castor oil
Castor oil is rich in vitamins, proteins, fatty acids and antioxidants. The ingredients of castor oil are especially good for hair of any kind, including eyebrows. They provide the hair roots with the necessary nutrients and promote hair growth, so even sparsely sprouting eyebrows are stimulated to grow.
The application is very simple. It is best to dab the pure castor oil onto the eyebrows with a cotton swab in the evening, then massage it into the eyebrow with your fingertips for two to three minutes and leave it to work overnight. The next morning, wash off the castor oil with lukewarm water. Repeat the application after several weeks. Your eyebrows will be pleased!
Good to know: Test the castor oil on your skin before use. If you have sensitive skin, it may sting and cause skin irritation. If this is the case, please refrain from using the oil.
4. Eyebrow brush
After plucking, the eyebrow brush must not be missing from the eyebrow care. Stubborn eyebrows are tamed in this way. The brush not only gives the eyebrows the perfect shape, but also removes excess powder from the hairs. After combing the eyebrows, the small hairs all point in one direction again, a great look is created. To keep the hair in the desired shape throughout the day, soap can work wonders. 5. Eyebrow pencil
Your pores are particularly wide open after plucking, which can quickly lead to small wounds around the eyebrows. Therefore, be sure not to apply makeup to the affected areas directly after eyebrow care. Give the stressed skin a little break and cool it down, preferably with aloe vera gel, as mentioned above.
Not every eyebrow is equally dense, shiny and bushy. This is perfectly normal. Thin areas between the small hairs can be easily filled with an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow powder after plucking can be filled. Eyebrow pencils are not only used to perfect thin areas, but also to give the brows more contour and expression. Try it!
