DIY Natural Deep Conditioner: The 5 Best Recipes

Just take a look in the refrigerator, because there are useful ingredients for DIY deep (hair) conditioner. We show you the 5 best do-it-yourself recipes for a shiny dream mane.

Not only a long mane should be specially cared for and treated gently, but also a bob or short hair cut can quickly become brittle or lose its shine. Push-up hairstyles or even the ponytail also put a lot of strain on the hair in the long run.

Therefore split ends, dry ends and the like should be prevented – with intensive care such as a hair treatment or conditioner, which penetrates deep into the structure of the hair. The best part? We don’t have to buy expensive products in the drugstore, and in the worst case even products containing silicone, but can easily copy a deep conditioner with home remedies from the kitchen.

We introduce you to five different home remedy recipes beyond aloe vera, coconut oil and shea butter for different hair needs and explain how easy it is to do deep conditioners yourself.

1. For dry hair: Avocado and olive oil conditioner

The hair is brittle and dry and feels more like you are touching through straw? Then we should give stressed hair an extra portion of moisture. Because dry hair tends to thin out. The consequence? They no longer grow, but break off at the ends. An avocado and olive oil hair mask provides the ultimate moisture kick:

For this you need:

  3. Mix together and massage into the hair lengths. Leave out the roots and scalp. For an even greater effect, wrap the ends of the hair with cling film.
  4. Then pour lukewarm water over them and wash the rest out with shampoo.

Tip: Argan oil for the hair is also particularly rich. Especially for dry, itchy scalp a mask with the oil helps!

2. For hair at risk of split ends: Banana-almond conditioner

If styling with heat is an unavoidable part of the daily beauty ritual, then the tips should be given a proper portion of care. Because split ends are not to be trifled with! Depending on the shape of the split ends, hair can break, which means that the hair will not grow any further and thins out.

For this you need:

3. For stubborn, brittle hair: Honey and olive oil conditioner

A honey and olive oil conditioner helps to restore the hair’s beautiful, well-groomed and shiny appearance. It gives the hair back its suppleness. In addition, honey as a moisturizer supplies the hair structure, strengthens the roots and reduces hair loss. A true all-round talent.

4. For damaged hair: Nettle buttermilk conditioner

Do you like to change your hair colour and do you also straighten your hair regularly? Then you should give stressed hair a little rest with a nettle buttermilk conditioner.

For this you need:

5. For greasy hair: Apple vinegar rinse

Oily roots and the hair looks like a small oil slick? Then a mixture of apple vinegar and lemon juice will help to degrease the hair and make it look nice and fresh. Acetic acid also reduces the PH level of the scalp and can thus combat dandruff. If you have an itchy scalp, hair care can provide relief.

For this you need:

  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 teaspoon of apple vinegar
  • 1 fresh lemon

DIY apple vinegar rinse

  1. Squeeze the lemon and mix with a glass of water and a teaspoon of apple vinegar.
  2. Drizzle the mixture over the hair.
  3. Rinse thoroughly immediately afterwards so that the vinegar smell disappears completely. This gives the hair a beautiful shine without looking greasy.

This should be considered when applying a deep hair conditioner

A homemade conditioner or mask does the hair good once or twice a week. So it gets the care it needs. The hair is repaired in the deeper structures and hair damage is prevented.

To do this, the hair should be damp or towel-dried. Massage the treatment or conditioner into the hair from the tips to the roots and leave it to work for 3 to 5 minutes. For an even deeper effect, apply the mixture to the hair before shampooing and allow it to soak in for 15 to 30 minutes before rinsing it out.

On the other hand, we would not recommend a cure: a beer cure or conditioner for the hair. Although it strengthens and gives shine, the strong smell of yeast remains anchored in the structure the next time you wash your hair.
