What are curtain bangs?
What looks like a pony growing out of its shell for some people is the new trend hairstyle for others! The term curtain bangs stands for a parted pony and thus distinguishes itself from a continuous pony or one that has been combed to the side. The English name comes from the comparison with a curtain: Curtain Bangs is translated into German as “Vorhang-Pony”, because the bangs are split in the middle and fall to both sides of the forehead.
Who can wear curtain bangs?
- First of all: Curtain bangs suit every face shape and almost every hair structure … that’s why we love this pony so much!
- Even rounder faces are well advised to use the fringe, as it makes them look optically slimmer. The hair falls gently over the forehead and makes the look feminine and soft.
- The hair should have at least chin length – accordingly curtain bangs are also suitable for a bob hairstyle. The bangs can then be of different lengths, depending on the length of the hair: A flowing transition from the eyebrows to the chin also creates a casual and feminine cut.
- You should only avoid this type of fringe if you have very curly hair: The fringe would then stand to one side a bit unfavorably.
Curtain Bangs: How to style your hair
The pony hairstyle lives from its loose styling, you don’t need to pay much attention to it:
- Let the bangs air dry or blow dry them briefly. Then all you need is a comb with which to split the bangs in the middle. Then comb the curtain bangs on both sides. Alternatively, you can use your hands for styling. With a little hairspray you fix the hairstyle at the end.
- Open hair and light waves go just as well with curtain bangs as a ponytail, high braid or loose bun. The style is therefore absolutely flexible and also very suitable for everyday use!
- Tip: Curtain bangs and split ends don’t go well together – if your hair tends to split ends, have the bangs cut every now and then.
