This is why coconut oil is so good for the hair
Coconut oil is one of the multitaskers for healthy hair, along with castor oil or olive oil. It is rich in saturated fatty acids and therefore belongs to the non-drying oils. It also wraps itself like a protective film around the individual hair fibres and makes the hair beautifully smooth. Therefore coconut oil is rather unsuitable for fine hair. Furthermore, coconut oil contains valuable ingredients such as vitamin E, which acts as a natural antioxidant and protects the hair from harmful environmental influences. But coconut oil can do much more:
- It helps with dandruff and hair loss: coconut oil has a high content of saturated fatty acids. Lauric acid in particular is known for its moisturizing and antibacterial properties. It fights viruses, fungi and bacteria and thus balances the environment on the scalp. This makes dandruff and hair loss a thing of the past. By the way, here we have more home remedies for dandruff.
- Coconut oil moisturizes dry hair and makes it shine beautifully. It can penetrate into the scalp and thus directly attaches to the hair root.
- It supports hair growth: Of course coconut oil cannot work wonders. However, a regular hair treatment with coconut oil provides the scalp with important nutrients, prevents split ends and thus supports the hair in growing. The lengths also appear fuller.
