Beach Waves: It’s So Easy to Get Them Overnight

Style in the evening, wake up in the morning with Beach Waves: We explain how you can easily make beach waves overnight.

Beach Waves: The trend hairstyle with beach feeling

The hairstyle Beach Waves is based on the light waves in the hair, which usually appear quite naturally after a long day at the beach: sun, salt water and wind cause slightly wavy hair and thus the typical beach look. But we can also style this beautiful holiday hairstyle ourselves without salt water and stiff breeze! Whether overnight, with a curling iron or straightening iron – there are many ways to get the perfect beach waves.

Beach Waves overnight

What sounds too good to be true is really possible with a few easy steps. Who always wanted to have Beach Waves can conjure the light waves into their hair overnight. All you need to do is a few targeted movements directly after the evening shower to wake up the next morning perfectly styled. And all this without any heat at all!

That’s how it’s done

  1. In order to wake up the next morning with light beach waves, it makes sense to wash your hair in the evening. If the hair is wet, it is easier to shape it. Carefully comb through the washed hair with a brush and spray some Sea Salt Spray on it.
  2. Separate small sections of hair, twist the lengths in and pin them down to create small mini-dutts. Take care to tie them all the way up so that they don’t pinch when you sleep and press uncomfortably on the scalp.
  3. It makes sense to use the gentle Invisibobble variant instead of normal cloth braid rubbers for tying. These are not only healthier for the hair, they also do not leave an unattractive kink in the Beach Waves later on.
  4. If you don’t want to go to bed with completely wet hair, you can blow-dry it a little beforehand so that it is only slightly damp. In this case you should use heat protection.
  5. The next morning, all you have to do is release the individual strands of hair from the mould, shake them up and loosen them with your fingers. Some hairspray gives the Beach Waves hold.
  6. To prevent the look from immediately collapsing again, it is best not to comb through the hair with a paddle brush or any other brush. This could destroy the resulting Beach Waves again.

Tip: Alternatively, you can braid the hair in two plaits – preferably nice and loose so that the waves fall naturally.

Beach Waves: 2 further styling methods

Beach Waves with the curling iron

  1. The variant works with heat, so it is especially important to spray the hair with heat protection first and thus protect it.
  2. Then comb your hair and wrap each strand individually around a thicker curling iron.
  3. Remember, the important thing here is not to create perfect curls, but to create the typically natural look that a day at the beach brings.
  4. Finally, run your fingers extensively through your hair and spray the Beach Waves with some sea salt spray.

Beach Waves with the straightening iron

  1. For this method your hair should be freshly washed, sprayed with heat protection and already dried. Otherwise there could still be styling residues in your hair, which are not necessarily recommended with the combination straightening iron.
  2. Then comb your hair thoroughly.
  3. Split your hair first in the middle and then another time so that you have four strands of hair. Twist two strands one at a time – one to the left, one to the right – and twist them together.
  4. Now press the straightening iron to the twisted hair strand from the height of the chin: continue step by step to the end and stay in one place for about 7 seconds.
  5. Repeat this on the other side.
  6. Afterwards, you dissolve the rotation carefully and loosen the resulting Bach Waves with your fingers.
  7. Fix the Beach Waves with some hairspray – this gives your hair hold.

Beach Waves: How to style your trendy hairstyle

  • Medium or long hair is suitable for the casual waves. The hairstyle works best with a step haircut. However, if you have very heavy, full hair, the hair will return to its original state faster. In this case the hairstyle will only last a few hours. If you have long or straight hair, it helps to spray the Beach Waves with a little salt spray every now and then and knead it again.
  • Whether worn openly and thus in the typical undone look, with a half bun, in a ponytail or even half pinned up – Beach Waves go with many hairstyles and always look really stylish and casual!
  • The Beach Waves are suitable for all occasions: Whether for the pool party or the evening event – the surfer waves always go!

What is a mini-dutt and how do you create this?

    1. Skillful says

A mini-dutt is a hairstyle that is created by twisting the lengths of hair and pinning them down. To achieve this look, start by dividing the ponytail into two even sections. Take each section and twist it tightly before pinning the ends underneath. This will create a low ballerina-style bun, commonly referred to as a mini-dutt. To add some extra flair, you can add decorative hair pins or use an elastic to hold the bun in place.
