If you want to lose weight, you should deal with the craft of acupressure. It helps to effectively curb hunger.
Losing weight with acupressure – Is that possible?
Acupressure can actually help reduce hunger and stimulate digestion. You do not eat more than necessary, and this in turn helps your belly fat to be slowly but surely reduced. Acupressure originated in traditional Chinese medicine and is based on the idea that the body is characterized by energy pathways, called qi. By applying specific pressure on the Qi pathways, one can treat typical everyday complaints – e.g. overweight.
What points do you have to press?
- Face: The acupressure point “LG 26” is located on the midline between nose and upper lip. If you press this point, you reduce your ravenous hunger attacks.
- Arms: Three finger widths above the wrist crease on the inside of the arm is “Pericardium 6” – a point that calms the stomach. The stimulation also has an anti-nausea and vomiting effect and regulates the chest, both for psychological and physical complaints.
- Legs: Acupressure point “Stomach 36” is generally considered to have a harmonising effect and helps when thoughts constantly revolve around food. You will find the point below the knees within a slight depression. Pressing this point also reduces the urge to eat.
- Stomach: “Vessel 12” is located above your navel, about a hand’s breadth away on the centre line of your body. This point promotes digestion and regulates the function of the stomach.
By the way: The dots should each be pressed for 60 seconds. The effect starts about 20 to 30 minutes after the acupressure. There is no scientific proof that pressing certain parts of the body has an effect on your eating behaviour. A US study was only able to prove that ear acupuncture has a positive impact on weight loss.
