Stuffy nose and no handkerchief at hand – we have all been in that situation. So you can still breathe freely again quickly!
So you can breathe again quickly!
Too annoying: The nose is running and even after panic-stricken rummaging through all the bags you won’t find a handkerchief! And now? Noisily pull it up? Ignore that it drips!
You can do it better now: The American health portal “Prevention” has found out two tricks to get rid of the problem without blowing your nose.
Method one: Tongue on the palate
First press strongly from the inside upwards with the tip of the tongue, then quickly press with two fingers against the forehead between the eyebrows. Repeat this movement, palate forehead-palate forehead, in a quick rhythm, for about 20 seconds.
The alternating pressure will cause the ploughshare bone in the skull to vibrate slightly, freeing the congested nose.
Method two: Hold your breath
Put your head back into the neck, close your nose with one hand (so that the nostrils are completely sealed) and then hold your breath for a long time. After a few moments, the body tries to clear the airways by slightly widening the sinuses and letting the pressure out – this is how “Prevention” explains this trick.
