7 Things You Can Turn Into Ice Cubes

We all know ice cubes made of water. But there are other ways. Everyone should have these 7 things in stock in summer, so that you can enjoy them ice-cold.

1. Milk and biscuits

The combination of milk and biscuits is always a good idea, but also in ice cube form? Definitely! Simply reduce the size of the biscuits and put them in an ice cube container with milk. Tastes great in coffee or as a simple dessert. By the way, the higher the fat content, the faster the milk freezes.

2. Coffee

Would you like to enjoy your coffee iced in summer? Then you should fill cooled coffee into ice cube containers and take it out of the freezer after a few hours. Put it in the coffee. Now you have all the time in the world to enjoy your favorite drink without normal ice cubes diluting it.

3. Wine

Yes, even wine can be frozen! What’s the point of that? So you get practical portions for the next cooking session, after all, wine is a perfect ingredient for sauces. Especially practical: this way you don’t have to open an extra bottle of vino.

4. Herbs

You bought way too much basil, parsley or dill again? Then you can easily freeze the leftovers. Put the fresh and finely chopped herbs together with olive oil into the ice cube containers. The ratio is one third olive oil and two thirds herbs.

5. Protein

Often you need more yolk than egg white for a cake, for example if the egg is used separately for baking. But where to put the rest? Freeze the egg white and cover the whole thing with a lid or cling film. If necessary, you can simply remove the proteins from the freezer.

6. Lemon juice

Lemon juice has many advantages: It helps with weight loss, headaches and colds. If you have bought too many lemons and want to preserve the juice – for example as a refreshing addition to a salad or for a glass of water – you can put the juice in ice cube containers. And voilà: There you go, the sparkling addition to your summer drink.

7. Pesto

Once the pesto jar is open, it must be used up. In order to preserve the delicious addition to pasta dishes or the delicious spread of the evening meal, it is recommended to freeze pesto. This is especially true for homemade pesto, which you can use for much longer.
