You always oscillate between pasta and fries? This has got to stop! A new US study has now found out which carbohydrates are best suited for your cheat day.
Study proves that french fries are always a good choice
As a study published in the “Journal of the American College of Nutrition” shows, fries are always a good choice for lunch. The researchers wanted to find out which carbohydrates make you feel full and satisfied the longest. Ideally, these carbohydrates also prevent ravenous appetite attacks after lunch.
As “Hello Giggles” writes, the participants had to eat their usual breakfast and dinner on five days, with lunch alone varying slightly. Lunch alternated between pasta or meatballs with salad and potato side dishes in the form of chips, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes or wedges.
The result: The test persons who ate fries at lunch felt significantly more full and satisfied than those who ate pasta. In addition, the participants were less hungry between lunch and dinner – and did not allow themselves snacks. Well, if that is not a reason to reach for the otherwise spurned fries during the next lunch break!
