Looking for series, celebrating film evenings and letting the evening come to an end – for many people the television is part of their daily life. When the screen is off, the unattractive sight of the clunky device remains. We’ll show you some great ideas on how to hide your TV.
Watching an exciting film with your favorite person or watching series with a few friends is part of the weekend for many. But the everyday sight of the TV is a disturbing factor for some in the otherwise cozy living room. If you find yourself in it, we will present ten different ways you can hide your TV.
Hiding TV: The 10 best ideas
On average, Germans (between 14 and 49 years of age) watch television for 160 minutes a day – and with our tips, TV’s can easily disappear during the broadcasting break:
1. TV in the closet
The TV in the closet is probably the classic hiding place. Doors open, TV on, movie over, TV off, doors closed. It’s that simple.
2. TV set behind sliding doors
An alternative to a classic TV cabinet is a construction with sliding doors. This can be a living wall, but also a half-open shelf in which the TV is integrated.
3. TV lift
With a TV lift, the TV disappears into the recess during the intermission – leaving behind a chic sideboard:
4. Image hiding
This also works the other way round: the TV does not dip, but with the help of an electrical construction a picture moves directly over the screen!
5. Pull-out card
Without technical chichi, the TV disappears behind a pull-out card, a stylish tapestry or a practical pull-out blind:
6. Hinged frame
The device is cleverly hidden behind a fold-out frame, whether the door(s) can be opened upwards or sideways is irrelevant, the main thing is that it looks really chic in the end, like this example:
7. Making it the focus
A completely different approach: Don’t hide the screen, but skilfully put it in scene! With a chic photo gallery, atmospheric backlighting or a fancy picture frame, this can be done in no time at all.
8. Screen
A screen is probably the best solution for corners that not everyone should see. Even the television is hidden from view behind such a hiding place.
9. TV as a painting
Not really hidden, but cleverly disguised! The manufacturer Samsung uses Art Mode to turn its television model “The Frame” into a painting or artistic photo:
Yes, the big picture in the middle is really a television!
10. Beamer
Cinema feeling in the living room comes up with a projector – goodbye to TV! With a receiver or computer and internet access, you can watch exciting films and series on a screen – or simply on the wall!
