Opening pores: Five tips for a clean skin

1. Foam bat

Thorough cleansing should be an integral part of the daily beauty routine. Free your face completely from make-up residue, dirt and sebum. To do this, use a cleansing product tailored to your skin type without fragrances, parabens, surfactants and emulsifiers. These only irritate the skin unnecessarily and cause irritation. Lukewarm water helps to open the pores. Avoid too hot water – it only stimulates the sebum production additionally.

2. Water march!

Always finish the cleansing with a facial toner. This not only removes all make-up residues, but also the lime contained in the tap water. Products with witch hazel, glycol and salicylic acid are good. They have an astringent effect and tighten large pores again.

3. Release steam

A steam bath is one of the most effective methods of opening pores. The heat stimulates the blood circulation and causes the pores to open, bringing dead skin cells and sebum to the surface. It works like this: Heat water in a pot and bend your face over the pot for ten to fifteen minutes. While doing so, place a towel over your head. Finally, dab the face with a towel and apply a moisturiser.

4. Scrub up

Dead skin cells can also be removed with a peeling, the blood circulation is stimulated and blocked pores no longer stand a chance. In order not to strain the skin too much, peel a maximum of twice a week. Here we have recipes for peeling yourself. Rinse the peeling afterwards with cold water. This helps against large pores and tightens them again.

5. Masquerade

After the steam bath or peeling, a mask made of clay works wonders. It draws the dirt and sebum out of the pores. For this purpose, apply the mask thinly and let it work for ten minutes. Then rinse off again with lukewarm water. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. A subsequent day or night care floods the cells with moisture.
