Incoming Video Call: 5 Professional Tips to Help You Look Fit Immediately

In the home office, we all tend to look like we’ve just got up all day. But when an important video call comes up, these five tips will make you look really fit in a flash, bet?

The home office can be so beautiful, but it also often makes us look as if we just got up. However, if you’re in a video conference, the out-of-bed look may not go over so well. Amanda Bell, Global Director of Education & Artistry at Pixi, tells us how we look fit and fresh in a flash. May the next video call come!

  • A fresh look starts naturally with the skin. Because if the skin looks fresh, we feel fresh. So if you have a video call coming up (or you just want to feel good), prepare your skin in the morning so it looks invigorated and moisturized. “After the morning cleansing routine, use a gentle exfoliator to remove dead skin cells. Then put on a sheet of mask that you have previously placed in the freezer for ten minutes,” advises Amanda Bell. Yes, you read correctly, into the freezer. That gives us the extra freshness kick.
  • Now it is important to lock in the moisture that we have brought into the skin. Here, Amanda recommends choosing a light, soothing care product so that the skin in the camera does not shine too much. Someone else might think we’ve been taking an oil bath… Very suitable here are light serums or products with a light gel texture, such as the pHenomenal gel from PIXI.
  • “Even people with flawless skin who don’t normally wear make-up need a base in front of the camera to balance the skin tone and create an even complexion,” explains Amanda Bell. We agree, cameras can be really mean sometimes. For important video calls, Amanda Bell says that for a super minimalist base, you could use a skinint and a light concealer. Skintints usually only have a very light coverage, they balance the skin tone and still make the skin look like skin. Perfect for the home office!
  • After we have tried to make the skin look as fresh as possible, it would of course be fatal to destroy the result again with a ton of powder. “Use a make-up fixing spray to avoid shine without applying super much powder. The spray can be used as a primer after skin care as well as after make-up for setting,” advises Amanda Bell. Just make sure that the spray is water-based, alcohol dries out quickly – and we do NOT want that!
  • Last, but not least, blush. “A little bit of blush totally revitalizes the skin and gives the face more dimension,” explains Amanda Bell. She advises to use a cream brush after base. But we should apply it before the fixing manure. This way, everything can be easily and streak-free veneered. If you like, you can of course also use bronzers – that’s entirely up to you, of course.

Now you’re ready for the next video call – or you can just freshen up for yourself. Sometimes that can’t hurt, can it?
