Removing water stains: From the sofa

Salt: We can treat the edges of water on the upholstery with salt. Moisten the stain, sprinkle with salt, leave to work for about an hour and finally vacuum the couch. The salt absorbs the liquid. By the way, this home remedy is also suitable for removing red wine stains.
Detergent: If there is a water stain on the couch, a little water with detergent can also help. We can simply dab the stain with a moistened cloth – until it disappears.
Gall soap: To remove stains from fabrics, gall soap is used to treat the edges of the water. Then wipe with a damp cloth and leave to dry.
Water: Water against water! Either you reach for mineral water and drip it on the stain and dab it until it is dry. Or you let distilled water act on the sofa stain, dab the water stain until the edges disappear.

Toothpaste: For superficial water stains on varnished wooden furniture, we can use toothpaste instead of furniture polish. We polish the stained areas with a cloth and then seal the whole thing with furniture oil or hard wax.
Oil and salt: If the stains in the wooden furniture are deep-seated, we can mix cooking oil (for example olive oil) with salt and apply it to the edge of the water. Afterwards, the homemade polish should be re-polished with a cloth. The salt acts as an abrasive and the oil serves as a protective layer.
Sandpaper: We can treat stubborn wood stains with a fine sandpaper. The surface should be lightly sanded and then dried with furniture oil.

Lukewarm water: With lukewarm water we can quickly get rid of fresh water stains. With a cloth we can remove the edges of the water with circular movements.
Vinegar: For leather shoes or leather furniture vinegar water can help. With a cloth we apply the vinegar to the corresponding area and then treat it with clear water. After removing the stain, the leather must be impregnated again.
Lemon or onion: Stain removers that sound funny at first, but are extremely helpful: half a lemon or half an onion. Simply rub the water stain with it and then treat with water and shampoo.

Vinegar: Vinegar cleaner is simply an all-rounder. We can dribble it on a cloth or sponge and dab the water stains with it and then wipe them off with a damp cloth.
Lemon juice: If you don’t like the smell of vinegar, you can go for lemon water. The application remains the same.
Shaving foam: Shaving foam is not only a miracle product for cleaning carpets. Simply apply, work with a brush and then dab with a damp cloth.
