Nail polish? We have! But do we have the right colors? In theory, we actually only need five coats of paint to be prepared for all eventualities. These are them:
Top coat, base coat, red nail polish, brown nail polish… – the list is endless. With the XXL selection in the shops (and partly in our home), we quickly lose track. But we don’t really need much, bet?
1. Clear lacquer
A clear lacquer definitely belongs in every make-up drawer. It seals, makes nails shine and makes colours last longer. Logically, we cannot do without this all-rounder. We know that sometimes it can be a bit of a nuisance to apply over- and undercoat, but it works wonders. Your nail polish lasts twice as long and makes the result look even better. The effort is worth it. And even if you want to wear the clear nail polish on its own, your nails will look well groomed.
2. Dark red
A dark red? Absolutely! This is noble, feminine and fits perfectly into autumn and winter. Not only that: Dark red harmonizes with almost every skin tone and makes our whole appearance look a bit more special at one go. However, you should definitely make sure that you apply it cleanly, otherwise you will unfortunately see every flaw. So, have the correction pencils ready!
3. Neon
Of course, the biggest trend of the year should not be missing on our nails: Neon colors. Especially on vacation, shades such as pink, orange and green make us shine even brighter – and our skin looks viiiiii much more tanned. If you don’t want to brush the crass colours onto your fingers, you can still use them on your toenails. The bright colours are also an eye-catcher there. By the way, here you can also find varnishes that glow in the dark.
4. Earth tones
Dark brown, chocolate brown or light brown – earth tones simply always fit. That is why you should have at least one of them at home. When it comes to the shade, of course, it’s primarily a matter of your own taste – and your skin tone. If you have very light skin, you probably prefer light brown tones; if you have a darker complexion, you can wear super dark brown tones. But of course these are not fixed rules, you can wear whatever you like.
5. Nude
The royals do it before – and we do it after! Nude nail polish not only looks super discreet, it also makes your fingers look well-groomed. A soft rosé or a light beige flatters almost every skin tone and fits to every look. Especially during the wedding season, nude tones are in great demand. As a rule, however, the colours are not as opaque as we would like them to be. Therefore: It is best to always apply two layers.
