On Black Friday you can get discounts in favourite stores. You can freak out there … Nevertheless it is important to keep a cool head. Because only those who shop cleverly will get their favourite item in the end and not carry bags of mispurchases home.
1. Plan your purchase
Black Friday is in the starting blocks and with it a lot of shopping traps: Because if suddenly red percent signs hang everywhere, there’s a danger of being blinded by the discounts and buying things you don’t really need. Now it’s time to stay calm and plan exactly where you want to spend your money. Make a list of pieces you really need and look for them.
2. Shopping pros work with wish lists
Real shopaholics leave nothing to chance in Black-Friday shopping. They create wish lists in their favourite online shops a long time in advance. And that’s how it works: If you see a part that you would like to have, but is unaffordable, it goes on your wish list. When day X finally arrives, all you have to do is click on “Buy”, because the tedious preliminary work has already been done.
3.1 What you should buy in the Sale: Classics
Just because products are priced lower does not mean that it makes sense to buy them. Ask yourself if you want to wear a garment longer, not just for one season. What always pays off in the sale instead: Buy classics at a reduced price. A classic winter coat, a high-quality white shirt, a cashmere jumper, timeless leather pumps, classic jeans from a premium label are sale bargains you’ll enjoy for years to come – that’s a promise.
3.2 What you should buy in the Sale: Statement pieces
Think of statement pieces on Black Friday, too. Is there a stylish cocktail dress or a luxurious bag that you’ve been dreaming of for a long time but would never buy at full price? Then discount day is the right time to treat yourself to the object of desire. Often, well-considered, exceptional purchases become new favourites.
4. If it doesn’t fit right, the low price doesn’t help either
Don’t let yourself be seduced into impulse buying that doesn’t really suit you. The dreamlike blouse is reduced by 40 percent, but only available in one size – and actually too small for you? Well, you could squeeze yourself in and as long as you don’t have your arms … No! If it doesn’t fit properly, you shouldn’t buy it, no matter at what price.
