In this article, we want to tell you about a true and never ending love; your baby! Your child will always be your little baby, even if he is fifty years old. Here is your baby’s fetal development week by week…
Period Delay
Medically, every missed period is a kind of pregnancy. However, for natural selection and healthy continuation of the generation, very few of these delays turn from laboratory pregnancy to true pregnancy.
B-HCG values checked in your blood under the control of a physician and other related markers can give you information about the course of your pregnancy. When your doctor tells you that you are pregnant, you have a pregnancy of about 5 weeks.
Nausea and vomiting may begin, you may be tired and sleepy, or you may be able to forget things quickly. Don’t worry, this is because of the hormones secreted by the placenta, called the baby’s partner. All these symptoms indicate that the hormone secreting function will be transferred to the baby on the 12th-14th. It can continue for weeks.
If you are more than 5 weeks pregnant and your B-HCG values are high enough to see the sac or the baby on ultrasound, it is possible to see the sac, the baby and even the heartbeat during these weeks.
It is one of the most exciting things in the world when the egg meets the sperm, reaches two, two to four, four to sixteen cells at once, then rolls into the uterus and begins to multiply there. On the 22nd day, without knowing why or why, a cell starts to burst into motion, starts beating, forms the heart, and this cell stops throughout its life cycle.
The heart of the baby in the womb begins to beat on the 22nd day. However, the mother’s baby’s heartbeat for the first time 5-6. can hear around the week.
During this time, the baby’s brain, eyes, mouth, inner ears and digestive system begin to develop, and the nervous system, brain, heart and lungs begin to take shape. Its ears are in the form of tiny dots, its eyes and nose are formed. His arms and legs are starting to take shape. At the end of the 2nd month, the embryo reaches the size of an apple seed, approximately 6 mm. In the 6th week, blood, sugar, urinalysis, liver and kidney controls, in case of doubt, screening for blood diseases and smear test are required.
11-14. Weeks
The first thing to look at this week is the baby’s nasal bone. Why? Because the nasal bone gives information about possible genetic disorders of the baby. Again, the nuchal translucency and the double screening test are among the important tests that should be done in these weeks. Your baby is now about 45-85mm in size and shaped like a small prototype human. He/she can move his hands and arms and starts to swallow and hiccup. It gives a great visual enjoyment in the ultrasound image. Although it is not always possible to see the gender, it can sometimes be determined during these weeks.
16-18. Weeks
Your baby’s hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, finger and toe nails, fingerprints; vocal cords, sense of taste develops and begins to suck his thumb. Increased sensitivity to light and ultrasound waves. Your baby’s kidneys are starting to work, circulating the amniotic fluid. The baby draws in amniotic fluid with inhalation and exhalation movements. Almost all organs are formed. It is about 12-14 cm tall and weighs 250 g. Triple and quadruple tests, which are genetic screening tests, should be done during these weeks.
20-22. Weeks
These weeks are the time when the baby can evaluate most clearly. In order not to miss anything this week, a detailed ultrasound evaluation is required. You can now feel your baby kicking and in these weeks your baby can hear and understand your speech. In this regard, we recommend that you listen to good music and tell good things.
24-28. Weeks
You need to take the sugar loading test. The baby continues to grow. During this period, the expectant mother may gain more weight, become tired, urinate a lot and may experience digestive problems. For this reason, we recommend that you take care of a regular and fiber-rich diet, and take the vitamin and iron supplements your doctor has started for you based on your needs.
In these weeks, the baby is 28-40 cm long, weighs 700-900 gr, turns his head to light and sound, his lips and eyelids are clear, and if you have a passport photo, that is, if you have a 4-dimensional ultrasound, you can see his face clearly.
28-32. Weeks
The baby is starting to sleep and wake up. It can detect sunlight. Brain and nerve development is progressing well. Blood production moves from the spleen to the bone marrow, and his lungs reach maturity to survive with a little support outside. Births that occur this week are called premature births.
Since the neural development of the baby, as well as the awakening and reactions of the baby are established, it is useful to connect to the device called NST and to follow up at regular intervals (every 2-4 weeks).
In the meantime, the expectant mother may have some vaginal discharge. Most of them are natural. However, in any case that is bloody or bothers you, you should consult your doctor.
Your baby reaches a weight of 40-45 cm and 2000-2500 g in these months.
And Last Weeks… We Are So Excited!
You have raised a big baby inside of you, but we know you’re done too. You have gained a lot of weight, if you do not exceed 7-13 kilograms, you are a good patient for doctors. You’ve had edema, your face is swollen, your breasts have grown. Now the love inside you is ready to meet you.
Here you should talk to your doctor and decide on the mode of delivery. Your body structure, your baby’s arrival position and weight, and the heartbeats that can change instantaneously are the decision makers here.
From the onset of your contractions and the bloody slimy discharge called engagement, you are now ready for birth.
First, the cervical opening (cervical opening) must reach 10 cm. If you are giving birth for the first time, you will have a gap of 1-1.5 cm per hour, and if you have given birth before, 1.5-2.5 cm per hour.
After 10 cm, the baby’s head begins to press on your vagina. In this period of time, it is very important that you push with the right technique in cooperation with your doctor. If all goes well, the baby will be born in about 30 minutes.
