Cleaning is not one of your favorite activities? If you do it wisely, you can save a lot of time! Here are 3 great household tips…
Our home is our place of well-being. Here we not only spend a lot of time, but also experience particularly beautiful and important moments. An important feel-good factor is, above all, cleanliness. Dust in every corner, dirty dishes or calcified faucets don’t really make for a good atmosphere at home. But between work and the next appointment there is often not much time left for the household. Once we start swinging the cleaning rag, there seems to be no end to it. But it doesn’t have to come to that. Thanks to the right approach, you can clean your home quickly and efficiently. Find out here which three household tips you need to know to save as much time as possible.
3 Super Household Tips
Tip 1: Keep an eye on the time
Housework has to fit into our daily routine, and a time limit can be very helpful. Whether you take 30 minutes or a whole hour, dividing up the work can lead to quick success, especially for those who don’t like cleaning, and at the same time provide motivation. Short waiting times in between can also be bridged super with small cleaning tasks. For example, if you are waiting for the pasta to boil, you can simply clean out the dishwasher and make room for dirty dishes.
Especially if we want to save as much time as possible, it is important to maintain order in the household and not to put things off for too long. If we put things back in their place immediately after use, we avoid creating a mess in the first place. Also, make sure to create a certain routine in the household, because if something is done over and over again in the same way and at the same time of day, it becomes a habit and is ultimately done quite simply along the way. In this way, housework becomes a fixed part of everyday life and is thus perceived as less of a burden.
Tip 2: Proceed with system
When only rough outlines can be seen in the mirror, it is high time to bring the bathroom back into shape. But what should be cleaned, when and how often? The right approach to cleaning is crucial, because not the entire apartment needs to be cleaned every day. To do this, divide the room into three categories and determine what should be cleaned daily, weekly and monthly. In the bathroom, for example, the faucets as well as the toilets can be damp wiped daily. Once a week, the entire wet room should be thoroughly cleaned. Vacuuming and mopping the floor should not be missed either. To ensure that the shower heads and faucets work properly, they should be decalcified every few months.
To do this, it is best to unscrew the shower head and faucet strainer, place them in a descaling solution and rinse thoroughly with water after 10 minutes. For descaling, it is recommended to use a professional descaler such as durgol universal bio fast descaler. This dissolves unwanted and stubborn lime thoroughly and 5 times faster than citric acid or vinegar. It is also readily biodegradable, hygienically cleansing and at the same time particularly gentle on materials. The durgol universal bio quick descaler can also be used for kettles, flower vases, pots as well as filter coffee machines. Shower stalls, wall tiles and matte fittings can also be easily freed from limescale. To do this, soak a cloth with a descaling solution, rub the surfaces with it and then rinse thoroughly with cold water.
A similar procedure as in the bathroom can also be used in the kitchen. To do this, wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth every day after preparing food. Once a week, clean everything thoroughly to give bacteria no chance. Every few months, treat those appliances and surfaces that come into contact with water with a descaler.
Tip 3: Keep utensils handy
When cleaning, the system is crucial, otherwise we quickly lose track and motivation. But not only the procedure, but also the right equipment is of central importance. In the best case, this is in a certain place in the apartment. Detergents and cleaning cloths can be stowed away easily in bathroom or kitchen cupboards. So they have their fixed place and can be used at any time. Because, especially for cleaning in between, it is important that the equipment is quickly at hand and does not have to be laboriously gathered together. The less time we have to invest in preparation, the faster the cleaning process. So that you can also keep track of the cloths and sponges, it is advisable to assign each room its own color. For example, blue rags are only used in the bathroom, and red ones in the kitchen. It is also advisable to choose different colors for sinks and toilets to ensure hygiene. It is also a good idea to keep the cleaning agent and the cloths together in a basket so that everything is always close at hand.
