Our Top 8 for a natural make-up
Natural make-up is always a trend. No matter how many colourful palettes are on the shelves and which bright colours are currently shining on the eyelids and lips of influencers. We have the basic knowledge for all those who like make-up but don’t want to look over-painted.
1. Create a basis
If you use highly opaque foundations in everyday life, you will never be able to create a super natural look. But if you still can’t do without a high covering power, there is a simple trick: Either use a primer that contains some shimmer or glow, or mix a liquid highlighter into your make-up. This will give your skin back its natural glow – and still be able to cover everything.
2. Too much concealer?
Severe dark circles under the eyes? Must take a lot of concealer to do that. Wrong! If you try to cover your eye area with a ton of product, the whole thing can quickly turn greyish. Better: Treat your discoloration with a Colour Corrector in Peach or Pink and then apply a small amount of concealer. This way nothing will slip into the wrinkles. We will tell you the best tricks against dark circles in our special.
3. Ignore the label!
Sometimes it is simply much better to use products for something they are not intended for. At least with your makeup. Don’t concentrate too much on using your products only for one specific batch. Try using your bronzer as eye shadow. It’s one of the most natural and quickest looks you can create for the summer. You can also use eye shadow as a highlighter or blusher. Well, make-up doesn’t always have to be complicated.
4. No drama
If you want natural make-up, strong eyeliners and bright colours are not the best choice. If you don’t want to do without an eyelid line, simply use an eyeliner pencil – preferably in a soft brown or taupe shade. That doesn’t seem so hard and makes the overall picture look fresher. And if you really want it to be super discreet: Smoke the paint out a bit with a finger or a small, tied brush. We show you even more about nude-look make-up in our video.
5. Underblushed
Problems dosing the rouge? Don’t worry, we know the drill. Once you go into the blush with a brush – and you look like Barbie. It’s best to choose products that are not overly pigmented. So you can build them up without any problems. Instead of a strong pink or red, use subtle shades such as rosewood, brown or a light apricot. With these, nothing can go wrong so quickly and the complexion looks a thousand times more natural.
6. Bronzed
Many make the mistake of applying bronzer to the entire face. Bronzer is not a fake tan – and therefore does not belong everywhere. If you want a natural look, apply it specifically to those parts of your face that would be the first to turn brown. These are: the temples, the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and also the chin. Of course these areas should not be completely brown, but a little bit of product can work wonders here. You look like you’ve just come from a holiday. Who wouldn’t want that? If you don’t think you’re up to it, then look at the edges of your face: Cheeks, forehead and chin line. That’s enough for everyday life. We have even more tips on how to apply the bronzer for you here.
7. Discreet highlights
Glitter on the cheeks? We don’t need that for natural makeup. Instead, a subtle highlighter that gives your face a healthy glow instead of glitter overload looks much more natural and professional. The finer the shimmer particles, the better. There are also powders that give your skin a healthy glow. You can apply this generously over the entire face – and you’ll have a charming summer glow. We like!
8. Finishing
If you follow all these tips, your make-up will look natural, but you’ll still have applied quite a lot of products. To make them melt into each other better, you should definitely use a settings spray. This will ensure that powder and cream textures blend together and your skin won’t look blotchy. Bet your look has never looked more natural?
