It covers dark circles under the eyes and ensures an even complexion. But it can do even more. Eight quick concealer tips with great effect.
Concealer tricks: For chunky lips
Our concealer tips not only help with dark circles under the eyes or an uneven complexion. For example, they also make our favorite lipstick color stand out better. If you like to wear bright colors on your lips, you should definitely try this concealer tip. First apply your favorite lip color, then frame the contours with a fine brush and a touch of concealer. Lightly blend and you’re done. This effect makes the color really stand out.
Which comes first: Foundation or Concealer?
For those who only suffer from occasional bumps, shadows under the eyes and the like, a little concealer is enough – of course! All others also use the foundation. (If you don’t need either of these: Congratulations on your dream complexion!) The question remains: What comes on the skin first? Concealer or Foundation? Clear answer: first the foundation, then the concealer. Any slight bumps will disappear with a little make-up. Plus: The concealer that covers the larger bumps would only be smeared again.
As an eye shadow primer
Do you know the problem? Halfway through the evening, the carefully made-up smokey eyes have disappeared somewhere in the creases of the eyelids. Concealer can help here as a base or primer. Simply put on the eyelids in front of the eyeshadow and pat in with your fingertips. So the make-up effort is also worthwhile.
No concealer at hand?
Then only the foundation does it. Apply a small blob to the desired area. Wait a few minutes to allow the formulation to dry and become thicker and reach the consistency of a concealer. Now gently tap in and blend. If you do not wait long enough, the foundation will only achieve a low concealing power.
Apply concealer correctly
Concealer hides eye shadow, right. But it can also provide an optical mini-lift. So instead of just covering the dark circles around the eyes – as in the picture on the above – it is better to apply a triangle over the entire cheek area. Tap everything in diligently and the focus is directed upwards – as with a flash light – and distracts from wrinkles and sagging cheeks.
Which concealer color for which purpose?
Different concealer colors have different jobs: Green is particularly suitable for red, i.e. for covering reddish spots and unevenness. For bluish eye circles, it is best to use a concealer with a peach or pink cast. A yellowish concealer is suitable for smoothing the complexion overall.
Concealer + moisturizer = BB cream
Homemade foundation: Take a dollop of your favorite cream and a little liquid concealer. Mix everything well and the tinted day cream is ready. If the cream contains a sun protection factor, the whole thing could even be called BB cream.
Eyeliner correction
Admittedly, making up a beautifully curved eyeliner takes a little practice. How good that a concealer can help if you’ve messed up. For this you need a small, sharply angled brush that you dip in a little concealer. Small mistakes can be mended before the whole eye has to be removed.
