Eyebrows, contouring, eye make-up: the beauty professionals simply know better! We will tell you five things that make-up artists would never do.
When it comes to make-up, the beauty professionals simply know much better how to do it. And that’s the way it should be. We’ll now reveal five things that make-up artists would never do – and we won’t do anymore either.
1. Blow on The Brush
You got too much product? Then please, please, please never blow it off the brush. First of all, it’s unhygienic, and secondly, you spread the powder particles all over the sink or make-up table. The make-up professionals will tap the product either on the back of your hand or in a cosmetic tissue. This way you can also control the amount much better.
2. Too much Pressure
If you press too hard with an eyebrow pencil, you run the risk of seeing your eyebrows from a distance of 20 metres. Not pretty! Make-up artists usually work with a very light hand and it is not necessary at all to fill in the complete eyebrow. You better look for gaps and fill them in. This way the result looks more natural and you don’t have to put on make-up.
3. Highlighter on Textured Skin
Not everyone has super soft, fine baby skin. Many of us have large pores and textured skin – and that’s not bad at all. It only looks bad when we apply highlighter to exactly these areas. So if you have a lot of texture at the temples or on the nose, you shouldn’t necessarily pay more attention to it here. The same applies, by the way, to pimples. The best way is to use cream products that only shimmer a little, but do NOT glitter. That’s how even the professionals do it!
4. Foundation in The Wrong Places
Foundation per se does not belong in the whole face. Even though many believe that. Actually, it’s only supposed to cover the parts where we really need to cover something. “I very often see too many and too heavy layers,” Zoeva founder and make-up artist Zoe Boikou also explains to us in an interview. The majority of the product should be distributed in the middle of the face. You can also apply a concealer to cover specific areas.
5. Wrong Contour Product
You want to outline? But then please not with a warm bronzer! After all, we want to imitate a shadow when contouring – have you ever seen a reddish-brown shadow? Well, we haven’t! Always choose a cool contour tone that matches your skin tone. If you’re light, choose a very light, grayish or taupe powder.
Those who have a darker complexion also choose a darker colour. The bronzer is only there to warm up the complexion – and only for this purpose should we use it. At least that’s what beauty professionals would do.
