Our skin ages with us – and that’s exactly why we should also adjust our skin care routines. We’ll tell you which five essentials we should all have in the bathroom from the age of 25.
Anyone who thought as a teenager that from mid-20s on, the skin would be perfect, smooth and pure has probably been proven wrong by now. Very few of us are blessed with perfect skin, we all have problems with redness, impurities, pigmentation spots or pores. Is that bad? Definitely not, but that’s exactly why your skincare routine should include certain products when you reach a certain age. These are our top five:
1. Cleanser
The times of make-up remover cloths are definitely over from the middle of 20. In the past, we might not have minded wiping off our make-up with a cloth and then hopping straight into bed, but it certainly isn’t good for our skin. That’s why a cleanser that is tailored to your skin needs should be an essential part of your skin care routine. If you wear a lot of make-up, you’re welcome to cleanse twice – this way you can make sure that everything comes off. Make-up removal tissues are still practical when travelling, but if you have the time, you should definitely use a cleanser. Safety First.
2. Treatment
The older we and our skin get, the more needs it has. Once you have found out what your skin needs, then you should definitely incorporate treatments into your routine. These could be weekly masks or peelings, for example. Or you could also use a serum that is tailored to your skin – depending on whether it is dry, impure or “normal”. In general, however, you should not use too many products, as this can often overstrain the skin. The result: it reacts with impurities and etc. that is exactly what we do not want.
3. Moisturizer
An absolute basic and actually included in almost every care routine: a moisturizing care. While young, youthful skin needs rather light textures, our skin needs more moisture with increasing age. If you are afraid of over-care, you can opt for rather light formulations, which nevertheless have enough care effect. Make sure, for example, that they contain antioxidants. Face oils can also do the hydration job. What works best for you naturally depends on your own skin and your preference. There are also special formulations for skin that is prone to impurities, which simultaneously care for and regulate sebum production.
4. Eye Care
Yeah, everyone needs eye care. And no, day care under the eye is not enough. The fresh, young, firm skin we had in our early 20s just doesn’t look the same at 28. This is due to collagen production, which decreases with age. We also often notice stress in our everyday life, for example, in our skin – for example, in swollen eyes or rings under the eyes. That’s why it can work wonders if we start using eye care at an early age. There are also very rich, brightening or firming formulations. The important thing is that you do not neglect eye care.
5. SPF
Last but not least: sun protection factor. We all know that sunlight makes our skin age faster. We can prevent this by applying sun protection factor to our face every day. This can either be a skin care product containing sun protection factor or you can use extra sun protection. A good SPF should protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Then you (and your skin) are definitely safe!
