Snacking on the fridge with a clear conscience? No problem with these five foods!
Snacking without regrets: We have identified five foods that are suitable as healthy midnight snacks. For nocturnal fridge raids without a guilty conscience. Enjoy!
1. Cottage cheese
Hardly any carbohydrates, but lots of protein and only 79 calories per 100 grams – the grainy cream cheese is the perfect quick snack, even for midnight snacking.
2. Greek yoghurt
Not only popular with athletes, but also suitable as a midnight snack: Greek yoghurt or yoghurt of Greek type is lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein than normal yoghurt.
On the other hand, the fat content is almost ten percent. But that shouldn’t be a deterrent, because a higher fat content has a more satisfying effect and we are guaranteed not to run to the fridge again. By the way: For something sweet, you can stir honey or even pomegranate into the yoghurt.
3. Dark chocolate
If chocolate, dark chocolate. Not because you could lose weight with it. Dark chocolate also lies on the hips when consumed in excess.
But dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70 percent contains secondary plant substances (flavonols) which are said to lower blood pressure. When in doubt, we love healthy sinning!
4. Pistachios
Admittedly, with a real increased appetite, removing the shell is quite annoying. But the little midnight snack is worth it. Because pistachios contain little carbohydrates, but a lot of healthy fats and a lot of sodium, potassium and phosphorus – important minerals for the heart and kidneys.
5. Unsweetened coconut milk
With 330 calories it is already a heavy midnight snack, but a healthy one. Because coconut milk contains inulin. This curbs ravenous appetite and has a strong satiating effect. The abundant minerals potassium and phosphorus also protect the heart and kidneys.
