These 5 looks have something for every length. With our instructions you can easily make the updos yourself.
1. The classic banana
The classic banana is a timeless classic – and is easy to do yourself with shoulder-length hair.
Step 1
Brush the hair on the left side – as if you wanted to tie a side braid – and fix it with a clamp in the middle.
Step 2
Fix the hair at the back of the head with four more clamps crosswise, then slightly backcomb the lengths.
Step 3
Wrap the thick strand over your hand and twist the tips inwards to form a tight banana-shaped knot. Fasten it at the side with hairpins. Finally, stick a long hairpin into the banana from below, this way the look will last the whole evening.
Step 4
Finally, stick a long hairpin into the banana from below, this way the look will last the whole evening.
2. The knot
This knot is not too chic, not too casual – and simply always looks good with shoulder-length hair. The easiest option among the do-it-yourself updos.
Step 1
First the back of the head, then the hair with transparent hair ties to two ponytails lying closely on top of each other. It is important that the braids are not too tight at the back of the head.
Step 2
Turn the two strands around each other: Wrap the lower strand to the right around the upper hair tie, pin it.
Step 3
Then wrap the top strand to the left over it and pin it in place. Finally, fix very fine hair with some hairspray.
3. Loosely pinned up
Loosely pinned up: This look suits every occasion – but the hair should at least be shoulder length.
Step 1
Gently back the hair.
Step 2
Comb everything with the fingers from the head.
Step 3
Whirl up thick strands around the face with your fingers and pin them in place.
Step 4
Tie the nape of the neck into a ponytail, pulling the braid only halfway through the hair tie.
4. The Chignon
The chignon is beautifully elegant and was already worn in the 19th century – it goes best with thick, medium length hair.
Step 1
First tie the hair into a ponytail, then slightly antoupe the braid and tie the ends together again with a hair tie.
Step 2
Fold the braid down and pin both hair ties together with a clamp.
Step 3
Finally, carefully fan out the resulting chignon, pin it firmly on both sides with hairpins and spread some shine spray over the hair.
5. The glamorous ponytail
The glamorous ponytail looks particularly classy on slightly thicker, medium-length hair. And the braid is the easiest option among the do-it-yourself updos.
Step 1
First tease the hairlines on the back of the head.
Step 2
Then bend your head forward and tie your hair deep in the neck into a braid – a hair tie with special hooks is best for this.
Step 3
Finally, pull a strand out of the bottom of the braid, wrap it around the braid rubber and fasten the tips below the braid with two crossed brackets.
